Radford University and the New River Valley
Radford-campus.jpg

Radford University is a vibrant public university set on a beautiful 211-acre campus in Radford, Virginia. The setting blends traditional Collegiate Georgian architecture with modern academic and student life facilities. Academic buildings, residence halls, and gathering spaces are clustered around green lawns and quadrangles, creating an inviting environment that feels both energized and welcoming.

Our classes will be held in the basement spaces of our three dorms, Peery, Trinkle, and Stuart, as well as in the classrooms of the adjacent Artis Center. The dorm rooms consist of two double rooms joined by a Jack and Jill style bathroom with one shower and one toilet. There are also handicapped accessible bathrooms on each floor. Each floor also has a kitchen with refrigerator. The dorm’s classrooms can be used for after hours playing. Most of our larger gatherings and events, as well as the Emporium, will be located in the Artis Center. Our dining hall will be very conveniently located on the other side of the dorms. While much of the area surrounding the campus is quite hilly, the pathways to the buildings we will be using are flat and easily accessible.

The campus sits in the heart of Virginia’s New River Valley, framed by the Blue Ridge and Appalachian mountains and bordered by the scenic New River. Outdoor recreation is a defining feature of the region—hiking, kayaking, fishing, and cycling are all within easy reach. The nearby city of Radford complements the university experience with a walkable downtown of local shops, restaurants, cultural venues, and riverfront parks. The community reflects a blend of small-town charm and vibrant university life, making it an appealing backdrop for summer events and gatherings.
