Rental viols
The Society maintains a collection of about 150 viols of all sizes which are rented out on a renewable 12-month contract (shorter periods may be negotiated if needed). Renters must be members of the VdGSA and pay the rental fee at the beginning of the rental contract.

Additionally, the Society has set aside several instruments of excellent quality (the Select Reserve Viols) for rental to young professionals and pre-professionals. Eligibility is determined through an application process. Normal rental rates apply but the renter is required to show proof of insurance.
The annual fee to rent one of our instruments is:

Pardessus: $300

Treble: $300
-
Tenor: $300
-
Bass (6 or 7 string): $400

In addition to the rental fee, the renter must pay a refundable security deposit of $100 and the insured shipping cost to return the viol at the end of the rental period.
