Neck inset into table by 0.5 cm. PB has 2 previous sets of holes, for 4 and 5 pegs. Christie’s 12/19/74: The Property of a Gentleman. W. Monical to TGM 8/15: neck and pegbox by René Morel; attribution to Guarneri is quite plausible (F-holes, wood, and varnish), but does not seem to have been conceived as a viol.
