Comments:

Muthesius 1996, no. 1: body of mahogany; 5-piece table, 1-piece back. All original except bridge, soundpost, pegs, and tailpiece—largely due to old and irreparable damage to table. Integral neck and top block. Position of plate indicates soundpost and bridge positioned near bottom of C’s; no other interior barring. Sharply angled bass bar. On display 8/02: top off, neck unattached to pegbox and top block. C holes very wide. Museum’s dimensions 66.7, 30.8/22.8/38.1, -, - (widths taken on back); website gives label as “Michel Collichon rue de la Harpe,” disproven by Muthesius’s photo. Mackey 2012: “mahogany” is really Cedrela odorata, or Spanish cedar.
