Chevron stripe pattern on back of neck and pegbox. Back (2-piece plus 4 wings) and ribs of cypress; neck, head, fingerboard, and tailpiece of walnut not original (by Andrew Dipper); these plus table and back are edged with ivory, ebony, and fruitwood; rosette (oval, wood and parchment); body measurements taken on back. Maker not named by Sotheby’s: “...the head of mahogany inlaid with ivory and ebony in a chevron design, the pegbox terminating in a simple curved finial....” Table unpurfled but edged in ivory, mahogany, and ebony; oval rosette. Length of back 69.2. Topham 2003: youngest growth ring is 1688 on bass side, 1692 on treble, probably from same tree.
