Comments:

Baines 1968: 4-piece table with double purfling and central ornament; 2-piece back (with central knot-pattern) and ribs are later replacements. “Neck with a spliced repair.” (Baines 1966: “back and sides renewed”; body length 67.) Edmunds 1994: 7-stave table (i.e., outer staves do not connect across C bouts). On display 10/01 + 8/03: pegbox has stippled sides but no relief carving. Table ornament quite spare; outer table staves are now clearly a different color from center.
