Hellwig 2011, TieWV 097; Hellwig 1980, no. 086. 2-piece table with sickle-shaped soundholes, ivory edging, and double purfling. Multi-stave back and ribs (13 and 9 pieces of palisander with ivory strips between) with ivory edging. Head not original; only part of pegbox survives; neck narrowed and shortened as part of conversion to a cello; fingerboard not original, no tailpiece; original ivory hookbar. Badly damaged condition. Dimensions 67.0, 30.2/22.0/38.3, 12.8, -. On display 8/02 at Musée de la musique: cello head. Website: female head in Directoire style is not original. Hellwig 2011 adds: top block not original; ivory carvings at neck heel; arched back; pegbox survives only fragmentarily (glued-on ivory decorations) and head is lost. Back widths 30.7/22.8/38.3. On loan to Musée de la musique since 1995.
