Comments:
Hellwig 2011, TieWV 024; Hellwig 1980, no. 028. Date given as 1685. Table not original; 3-piece back (arched) with glued-on carved ornament at top; ribs of bird’s-eye maple, probably cut down and bottom rib shortened. Head is 19th-C. Dutch; fingerboard and tailpiece also not original. Dimensions 64.5, 28.3/21.7/36.0, 11.4, -. Hellwig 2011 adds: date corrected to 1683; back ornament nearly identical to TieWV 23, but right-hand portion probably a replacement. Earliest example (together with TieWV 23 and 25 of same year) of an arched back and glued-on carved ornaments.
