Smith 1977: Poor quality instrument. Rib depth may include table and back thickness. Repair labels: “J. Mahlke, Geigenmacher Berlin. reparirt 1898” [printed except 1898]; “Repaired by Anton Guerene, 1948” [name printed, rest written in pencil on left lower bout]. Double purfling on front, none on back; neck angled back sharply; tail gut. Monical 1979 report: “The table is probably by Rombouts. The instrument is in poor condition....” Website: “There are chisel marks on the table, glue and varnish have not been cleaned off inside, the purfling is heavy and thick, and there are file marks on the neck.”
