Comments:

Owner’s attribution is to “Pellegrino Zanetti” with definite date (from a label?): on most recordings 1550, but in some more recent concert programs 1553. Very large F-holes. Upper bout much narrower than lower. Table appears (from CD photo) to be slab-cut, with highly contrasting orange and black whorls. Seen in concert 6/8/15: flat back, no fold; tailgut with modern, sculpted tailpiece; end buttom apparently drilled for an endpin; strung with 1 wound and 5 gut strings; lion head very large in proportion; excellent tone and response. Dimensions from a drawing by S. Casademunt, via F. Peccia 12/20.
