Comments:
Neck and head not original: cello conversion. Rosette. Tourin reported pegbox had 4 large pegs + 4 small for sympathetic strings, but owner’s photo shows 6 normal-size pegs only. Also: upper bout viol-shape, lower has small dimples instead of lower corners; soundholes have lower eyes only. Tailgut. Martius 2003: dimensions 74.5, 35.5/23.6/43.0, 12.0, -; was a violoncello d’amore (4+4) when acquired, but uncertain if this setup original or not. Printed repair label: “Reparirt / Georg Tiefenbrunner / in München, Petersplatz No 8/1.”
