Comments:

Striped back and ribs (maple and fruitwood); 2-piece table; front and back with double purfling. Pegbox has relief carving of foliage on back and sides, with V’s on front edges; 2 pegs treble, 3 bass side. Bridge placed below middle of C-holes. No linings between back and ribs (though cloth reinforcements for joints on both), and no crossbars except soundpost plate. Very good condition, probably playable (currently has nylon frets). Wells & Nobbs 2007: “There are clear traces of earlier frets for a longer string length and faint traces of bridge feet at a position c. 4.5 mm nearer to the tail”; dimensions: 32.7, 16.0/11.2/19.6, 4.9, 31.5.
