On display 8/02: double purfling (C-holes only single); table ornament elaborate but open design with birds’ heads at top level; fleurs-de-lys at corners. 3-piece back, decorated ribs. Neck has been narrowed; currently without strings, bridge, or tailpiece. Topham 2003: 2-piece table, youngest growth ring is 1672 on bass side, 1679 on treble. Pieces not from same tree, but each matches one side of a Jacobs viol (unspecified). Museum’s dimensions 69.6, 31.7/22.8/39.9, 13.0, - (probably taken on back). Repaired in 1892 by Gustave Bernardel, successor to Gand & Bernardel frères: new tailpiece (Gétreau 1996, p. 451).
