Comments:

Striped back and ribs, double purfling, La Fille head. Gétreau 1996: “Attr. à Louis Guersan”; website formerly listed as anonymous, now as Guersan (but “quinton de viole”, formerly pardessus; “attribution incertaine”). Repaired in 1876 by Gand & Bernardel frères (new pegs and bridge); in 1960 by Millant-Deroux (opened to repair cracks in table; reset neck, redo heel) (Gétreau 1996, p. 446). 2 pegs treble, 3 bass side. Jacquier: “très proche de E.66” (= Guersan, 1751); his rib depth 4.6, probably without table and back whereas museum’s 5.0 includes them (?).
