Table and back extensively decorated in “laque de Chine noire”. Museum website gives maker’s name as Chiquelier but says label reads “Giquelier”; Tourin read label as “Chiquelier”; Gétreau 1966 gives name as “Christophe Chiquelier”; Chouquet read it as “Cristofo Giquelier” (therefore also thus in Lütgendorff amd Vannes) and called it a “viole bâtarde”.
