Comments:
Huber: label probably false. Martius: rosette; ribs and back have walnut veneer. Cello neck and modern fittings. Dendrochronology gives date of 1734 for youngest growth ring on table. Website (6/2016) gives label text as “Leonard Mausiell Lautten- und / Geigenmacher in Nürnberg 1711”; “Hersteller & Ort: unbekannt” (SL from here, not Martius). Steeply sloping shoulders, lower bout much wider than upper. (Tourin: German)
