Comments:
Muthesius 1996, no. 7: All parts original except tailpiece, bridge, and soundpost. 4-piece table with painted ornament and perimeter decoration (2 gold lines enclosing a darker line); decoration resembles no. 6 [= Kessler’s bass], suggesting a similar date [i.e., c. 1691]. 1-piece back and ribs of service-wood. In very good condition; dimensions 31.5, 15.3/10.6/18.7, 6.4, -. Mace 2012: same outline as Collichon’s treble, but 10/11ths the size; 2-piece table with 2 wings; through neck, mitered corners, oblique bass bar; head “a mustachioed gallant”. Drawing by Olav Gorset (1976) available from museum. Mackey 2019 dimensions 31.5, 15.3/10.6/18.7, -, -.
