Comments:

Had 5 strings when purchased by Niggemann; restored by Ingo Muthesius. Pegs reversed: top string peg closest to nut. Very wide C-holes; rosette (uniquely with 12 petals: perhaps not original?). Worksheet from examination at GNM by Kathrin Schulze, 1991: 5-piece table with gilded rosette (arching redone and bass bar replaced by Muthesius); no linings or corner blocks. 2-piece back with wings in lower bout; various repairs to body, especially upper ribs. Neck, fingerboard, and tailpiece by Muthesius; had previously been restored by Eras from 5 to 6 strings, so only top 5 pegholes old; golden-haired female head. Repair label “Petrus Desplane.../ Petri Filius / Me reparavit / 1707”. Measurements 72, -/-/39, 14, - (all “ca.”).
