Saxon or Bohemian origin? Converted to cello, then back to gamba, latter probably in 1905 (cf. repair label, in pencil on inner surface of table, upper bout: “Jos. Nairz München 1905”). Bass bar integral with (i.e., carved out of) table. 1-piece table with high arching, with both bass corners replaced; C-holes very close to edges, oval ornament (inlay, not rose) under end of fingerboard. 2-piece back; no purfling front or back. Bars on back are replacements.
