Converted to cello, then back to gamba, latter by Staatliche Berufsfach- und Fachschule für Geigenbau, Mittenwald, 1976 (19th-C. cello neck, pegbox, and scroll still preserved). Bars on back are replacements. 2-piece table with 2 lower wings, 2x triple purfling, oval rosette. 3-piece back (center strip set off from side pieces with triple purfling), 1x triple perimeter purfling (replaced as part of gamba restoration).
