Comments:
Rosette, tailgut (not original?), overhanging edges; Tourin: “looks German”. In 1978 had 7 strings, but 2014 photo shows only 6. Per H. Münzberg (via T. Friszsch), table, back, ribs, and pegbox belong together; pegs, fingerboard, bridge, tailpiece, and top block are new; has been significantly cut down (ribs as well as table and back), and the soundholes repositioned. Fritzsch: original shape of soundholes can’t be determined, due to new wood; pegbox and head may be older than body (different varnish); neck appears cello-like and modern. Measurements from photos showing meter ruler; body length taken on back, widths on front (back = 31.6/23.0/39.1).
