Comments:
Body shape: no upper corners, only lower ones, which are pointed; upper bouts very narrow. Gallini 1963: by Giovanni Rota (Cremona) [Lüt: active 1795-1810]; dimensions 73, -/-/39, 9.5, -. Gatti 1997 [NB: Body lengths and widths taken on back]: Anon., 2H18C. 1-piece back (with 2 wings), arched, no fold; 4-piece table. Face carved on tailpiece, probably originally from a cello since it has a set of four plugged string holes in addition to six now in use. TGM: Neck, fingerboard, and bridge very narrow though currently has 6 strings.
