Comments:
Tourin: 5-piece table with double purfling. Neck angled back significantly, not original. 3rd digit on label not actually printed as a 5: adapted (from a 6?) in different ink from that used for “77”. Hebbert: fingerboard and tailpiece from workshop of Barak Norman, after 1698. Hellwig 2011, TieWV 93: head and pegbox by Tielke, 1695-1708. On loan to New England Conservatory, 1957-65; on loan to museum 1965-91; donated to museum by Rowland’s children in 1991 (see AMIS News 21/2:8). Repair label: “Anno 1962 / Extensively Repaired / by / Donald Warnock / 2 Brewer St., Cambridge 38, Mass.” [handwritten]; bridge signed “Warnock” in ink underneath curve.
