Comments:
Tourin: big C-holes, 5-piece table (plus wings on lower bouts) with single purfling; 2-piece back with none; neck narrowed and later re-widened; 9 holes (in 2 rows) in ebony tailpiece (probably not original); dimensions 69.0, 32.4/24.0/39.5, 13.9, 70-71. Roosen 2001 adds: bent-front construction; table purfling missing on lower bass bout. Central part of neck may be original; 2 nails through top block; small original bottom block. Crossbar at fold, wooden lining to back joint; linen linings to back perimeter and rib corners, parchment to table joints and some cracks. Bass bar not original; no frets. Tailpiece kept from cello conversion, with extra holes added. Much in need of restoration.
