Comments:

Martius JCH 25. Table with single purfling and ebony edging, medium arching, wide edge and slight recurve; bass bar and top block not original. Neck assembled from several pieces of wood, the middle part being original, with added wood on the sides. Pegbox with partially open back and carvings on all sides, head of lesser quality; 7th peghole just beneath hair bow, now plugged; probably rebuilt for 6 strings for Paul de Wit. All fittings unoriginal except ivory hookbar with inked date 1731 at upper end. Dendrochronology (by Micha Beuting) gives date of 1719 for youngest growth ring on table. Back widths 24.3/17.7/29.7. Kinsky dimensions 52, 24.3/-/30, 10, -. Drawing by Ute Singer (2011) at museum.
