Hellwig 2011, TieWV 057 (viola d’amore); Hellwig 1980, no. 052 (“viola d’amore (?)”). Hellwig 1980: table with sickle-shaped soundholes and single purfling; back (flat with fold) of 4 pieces of palisander [GH] or walnut [FH] and 3 of maple; bottom rib in one piece. Original neck, but reangled; plain pegbox with fluted back; fingerboard and tailpiece (latter probably not original) veneered with tortoise-shell with ivory borders. 2 pegs treble, 3 bass side (not original). Repaired in 1930. Hellwig 2011 adds: 2-piece table; fingerboard originally wedge-shaped; tail gut (now wire). Back widths 15.2/10.9/19.2. Kinsky 1912 dimensions 34.0, 15.5/-/19.3, 3.9, -. Köpp 2000, p. 146: viola d’amore. Tourin: arm viol.
