Comments:
Tourin: 2-piece back with double purfling; couldn’t see front, “poss. arm viol”. Museum database: exquisite wood, superb varnish. Neck [i.e., edges of fingerboard and pegbox] inlaid with ebony and ivory. Photo: crescent soundholes with lower eye only; tailpiece has scallopped sides and diagonal top edge, with 6 large white buttons to hold strings. Measurement diagram by Mette Müller, 1998 (for museum): no body widths; rib depth includes back and table thickness.
