Comments:
Hammerich 1911: label [of Gasparo da Salo, Brescia] removed by previous owner; used as solo cello in Meinigen orchestra “until a few years ago”; suggested tuning in 5ths, like cello piccolo. 3 pegs treble, 2 bass side. Tourin: overhanging edges; 2-piece table and back, both with double purfling. Neck graft at pegbox; elaborate floral carving on pegbox, complex molding on front edges; camel’s head.
