Tourin: quinton; 2-piece table with C-holes and single purfling; 1-piece arched back with no purfling; no overhanging edges; violin-type neck, very narrow fingerboard, no sign of frets; bearded old man’s head; tailgut. Klaus: viol outline with overhanging edges and arched back but C-holes: “Quinton (?)”; “Korpusmischform”. 2 pegs treble, 3 bass side. Vannes 1951 gives date as 1772, but Jacquot says documents confirm his activity from 1728 only until 1766. “Réparé par Fischesser frères / Luthiers a Genève 1888”. Tourin dimensions 31.4, 14.8/10.6/18.5, 4.4, 29.5-30.0.
