Comments:
Harnoncourt 2017: purchased by Alice in Paris in 1950; subsequently, dendrochronology gave a date of c. 1530 (but in earlier years usually dated c. 1600 on recordings). Unusually short neck, also pegbox and head, not original, probably French from 2H17C. Harnoncourt 2023: Here attributed to “Zanetto Pellegrini,” Brecia, mid-16th century. Body original in all essential parts; dendrochronology dating is 1491. Head is French, 17th century (with carved back and sides). Bought in Paris in 1953. Sculpted tailpiece; narrow light-brown edging to fingerboard. Senn 1957 dimensions: 60, 26.5/-/33, 11, -.
