Comments:
Original neck; carved head similar to Rombouts treble, Leipzig 799. Drawings by G. J. Manders (1981) available from museum. Rosette, double purfling. Tourin: head and pegbox like Library of Congress; carvings on sides of neck heel; very wide purfling, very pronounced French edge; once had a hookbar. No corner blocks, but back linings; one tall crossbrace below soundpost plate, with long scallops on ends; 3 flat cross braces, all held in place with chocks at their ends. Nicely figured maple, fairly light instrument. On loan to the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, since 12/2015.
