Martius & Schulze 1991 dimensions 130.0, 69.6, 33.5/23.5/39.7, 13.0, 73.4; rebuilt as a viola bastarda; pegbox older than neck, but head doesn’t belong to it; back of 2 maple and 3 plum strips, ribs of plum. Baines 1966, p. 18: “viola bastarda”: 7 wire sympathetic strings attached to hitch pins at base of body; rose, open pegbox, “neck renewed”; body length 70. (Busch active from 1622; died in 1648.)
