Comments:
7-piece table with double purfling; 3-piece back with 3 groups of diamond ornaments on center piece, bas-relief V on fold, and single purfling. Table ornament matches those on DOLM 5 and FOLGER 1, by Miller; back decorations similar to Newark Museum 59.333, especially at bottom and below fold line (but not in middle). Carved pegbox; face of female head is a replacement, but tresses are original. Neck by Robert Foster, not long before 2008, “replacing a 1970s neck at wrong angle”; additional restoration by him in 2016-17. As of 2018, on loan from anonymous owner/patron to Caroline Ritchie.
