Comments:

Sachs: converted from a lira da gamba; neck not original. Table with ridges extending inward from all four corners (Herzog’s “El Greco” style), plus a rosette; flat back with fold; double purfling on table and back (including back ornament); fluted external linings (moldings) on ribs. Not in Tourin’s BERA group (listed in Sachs with cellos). Not in Otto & Adelmann 1975; probably lost in World War II.
