Comments:

Hellwig 2011, TieWV 068 (viola d’amore); Hellwig 1980, no. 062 (“viola d’amore (?)”). Köpp 2003: less certainly a viola d’amore than the 4 smaller examples by Tielke. Hellwig 1980: 2-piece table with double purfling, badly damaged soundholes, and non-original bass bar; 1-piece back (flat, presumably originally folded, before ribs cut down) with no purfling. Converted to a viola; restored by Ingo Muthesius in 1977 (new neck, pegbox, head, and all fittings; dimensions 38.7, 18.3/13.5/23.2, 4.7, -. Hellwig 2011 photo shows fingerboard and tailpiece veneered with tortoiseshell, and similar to those of TieWV 58, but with horizontal top edge and no cutouts. Back widths 18.5/13.5/23.2. Tourin: dimensions from owner: 39.5, 18.5/13.5/23.5, 4.5, - (probably on back; only to nearest 0.5 cm?); “viola da braccio”.
