Bonhams 2002/09/09

Dolmetsch 1978: original scroll, neck, fingerboard, and tailpiece; single purfling. 2 pegs treble, 3 bass side. Presumably French; plainer than DOLM 13-14 (both Guersan) and probably later. Montagu 2002: “A small five-stringed viol, either a pardessus de viole or a quinton, looking, with a bridge stamped ‘Dolmetsch’, not quite as old as the catalogue suggested...” C-holes quite large and vertical.
