Comments:
Restored by Michael Heale, 1979; was a cello when Caldwells purchased, using top 4 pegs worth of original pegbox and parts of original neck. Neck and top block are one piece; not built on a mold. 5-piece table. Tourin: old bridge marks ±2.5 cm lower, for SL of 74-75. Fleming 2001: 7-piece table with double black purfling (none on back); dimensions 71.0, 34.3/24.0/41.1, 13.6, -. Caldwell 2012: back looks like fruitwood, but maybe English yew; slab cut, with no purfling; ribs similar but quarter-cut; flat-sided scroll has carved boss glued to each side; table varnish darker than back and ribs; dimensions 71.0, 34.3/23.8/41.0, 13.5, 70.6.
