Photos in Caldwell 1974 show sharply angled neck (not original); “The top is in poor condition from worms, cracks, and poor repairs”; lion has ivory teeth and tongue once painted red; dimensions there 70.5, 31.1/21.7/38.2, 13.0, 62.4. Otterstedt 1986 includes but with no information. Muthesius 2005: restored 2002 by Ingo Muthesius, arriving in detached pieces without neck, fingerboard, tailpiece, pegs, bass bar, and back crossbars. Muthesius to TGM, 5/07: new top block and neck joint, back barring, fingerboard and tailpiece; dimensions 70.3, 30.8/21.9/36.9, 12.3, -. TGM (5/09): 7-ply purfling on front, none on back; back and ribs likely to be birch; no corner blocks, back (now) has thin wooden linings on perimeter and at fold but cloth at center joint, plus 1 crossbar above, 2 below soundpost plate (which stops 2/3 of the way across).
