Comments:

On 1969 record sleeve, listed as “by Joh. Gottfried Klemm, Radeberg, c. 1760,” but M. Ruhland says no label “and we do not know why and how our father identified it as a Klemm.” Shoulders almost square; darker added wood on back reveals it (but not table?) was originally less so. Body corners unpointed; F-holes quite far from edges. Scroll-shaped decorations emerging from perimeter purfling in middle of upper bout on both table and back, with similar squiggly decorations at top of back and on sides of neck heel; white diamond-shaped decoration in middle of tailpiece; rosette hidden by fingerboard.
