Comments:
Striped back (7-piece) but not ribs. Lloyd Smith (quoted in Meixell 1988): probably a composite, with English table and French back, by an Italian restorer. Tourin: looks English (outline, C’s, rose); striped back (walnut and maple); new neck (too short); pegbox has [plugged] hole for 7th peg. Repair label: “Restored by / Janos Bodar” (handwritten / printed). TGM: if English, likely 1H17C (rosette).
