Apollium: probably made in Bulgaria or Hungary in 19th C, restored in 2000s; carved back and sides of pegbox; body length 75.6 Owner’s online ad (2016-17): “Large consort bass made in the 19th century in Bohemia (?) after Nicolas Bertrand. ... Restored by Claire Ryder (Paris) in 2006.” Body length 77.5, string length 72.5. E-mail from owner, 11/07: bought in Hungary; neck and pegbox are new; dimensions as above; repair label of Luigi Galimerti, Milan, 1933.
