Arched back, overhanging edges; flame holes with lower eyes; “extraordinary good craftsmanship”; “The varnish is dark like Viennese instruments often have and the surface silken”; date perhaps 4Q19C. New neck by Walter Schmidt for current owner, replacing too-narrow, non-original one; but 7-string pegbox is apparently original (currently with 4 pegs treble, 3 bass side).
