Comments:
Table with white edging, back with 6 thin inlaid stripes (but probably 2-piece), ribs with 3 pairs of same. Short, open-carved ivory tailpiece; black pegs with white surfaces decorated with two double stripes in black. In 9/07, owner sent photos to I. Muthesius (forwarded to T. Muthesius and followed by measurements) seeking an appraisal for this instrument “que je souhaite vendre”; in 3/10, J. Kraft sent me same photos “of a bass viol late 18th–early19th C (?) that a client of mine is thinking of buying.”
