Bonhams: “Skilled ancient repairs, now in immediate playing condition”; flat back, flush edges; endpin and tailgut; 6 strings; brown fingerboard with V-shaped end; tailpiece also brown but with central dark stripe, diagonal end nearest bridge, and sculpted side edges. After restoration, black fingerboard and tailpiece, with inlaid perimeter line only on FB; dendrochronology gives dates of 1765 (treble) and 1762 (bass) for youngest growth rings on table.
