Comments:
Hellwig 2011, TieWV 116; not in Hellwig 1980. 2-piece table; 2-piece back (arched) with no purfling; ribs partly replacements. Back widths 30.0/21.4/37.5. Repair label: “Ingo MUTHESIUS / restauriert u. ergänzt / 1994”. Muthesius 2005: restored in 1995 [sic], based on Tielke in Basel museum; only body is original. Attribution based on outline, arching, and construction of arched back; dating from I. Muthesius. Soundholes had been changed to Fs, then to French-style Cs, now to something like original. Photos from owner show elaborately inlaid fingerboard and tailpiece; ivory edging to table and pegbox (front and back).
