Wells 1973 says sold in June [1972] but does not specify which auction house; surely Sotheby’s 6/29/72. Said to be “by Richard Meares, second half of 17th century,” but Hebbert 2001 says “the outline matches neither maker,” i.e. Meares or Norman. “Floral motif [Type VIII] typical of Norman and probably a repair.” 3-piece table.
