Museum’s data sheet gives suggested date of 1710-23; provenance unknown; acquired prior to 1986 but not given an inventory number until then. Perhaps identical to 1978-15 (KOPEC 7), q.v. Three-piece table with ornament like Norman’s Type VI, but lacking his name stamped in central circle; other differences match that on 1680 Collingwood, also without Norman’s name. Center back uses design elements also found in Norman’s Type I, II, and III, but here larger; diamond-and-arrow patterns at bottom and below fold like those on 1686 and 1694 Collingwood viols. For all these reasons, date more likely c. 1680-1700.
