Restored by Ingo Muthesius, c. 2005-06. 2-piece back with 2 wings and ink purfling, table with rosette and black-and-white edging, fingerboard and tailpiece similarly edged plus central track of pairs of larger white rectangles alternating with brown. Carved back of pegbox. I. Muthesius 7/05: Mothe label found underneath Fleischer label. 4-piece table with integral bass bar (not glued in) running vertically; 2-piece back with 4 wings and painted purfling. Hookbar not original but well done. T. Muthesius 6/07: neck grafted, ca. 80 years ago, but fingerboard original. His measurements 66.0, 29.4/21.0/35.2, -, 68.0. (Bonhams: “some restorations”; garbled reading of label, [“L.A. Leuseber?”] with date 1731.)
