Comments:
No table ornament; back decoration matches that on 1689 Norman (DHV 387). Soundholes unlike Meares’s style, more closely resembling Tielke’s, and double purfling on table does not match that on the back: perhaps table is a replacement by Goldt. Had been converted to a cello when Emmerfors acquired it; he reports table has bent central stave. Several repair labels: “Samuel Goldt in / Lübeck Renovation 1723” [handwritten], “Reparerat af P. Kilander / Instrumentmakare i Stockholm A:o 1831” [printed], “Reparerad af / Andreas Lennmark / Stockholm, 1856”[preinted except Reparerad af and 56], “Reparerad / Alfred Brock / Stockholm 1923” [printed except Reparerad and 23], “Reparerad och återställd / till Gamba våren 1989 av / Anders Emmerfors, Hammarö” [handwritten]. “Reparerad af Albert Eckerbom / Jönköping 2016”.
