Corners slightly pointed; F-holes very long; black-and-white edging around perimeter of table, tan-and-white on back; ribs divided into unequal thirds by two inlaid black lines. Only body is original; new neck, head, fittings (including brown fingerboard and tailpiece with narrow white borders, long black pegs with white pips). Döbereiner played as a 7-string, reconverted from a cello. Frankowski 2016: back and ribs of bird’s-eye maple, the former with painted purfling, the latter with central painted double stripes; youngest tree ring on table dated 1716; dimensions -, 33.4/25.0/41.6, -, - (back widths 32.9/24.1/40.3)
